wwe hall of fame 2006
Last year, the WWE did a good job with its Hall of Fame selections. I felt the people they picked were good choices and so were the people who inducted them in. I also felt location was a major factor which played into the people who got nominated, mainly due to Hulk Hogan. What I liked was that all the people inducted were some way connected to him. Piper, Orndorff, Orton, Shiek, and Volkoff all feuded with Hogan at one time, and Jimmy Hart was one of his best friends. So this years Hall of Fame is in Chicago, so I felt I would put my two cents in as to who could be inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame.
1 and 2 - The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom
Inducted by - Bubba Ray and D-von Dudley
I believe this is the only certainty for the Hall of Fame this year. The tag team is from the Windy City and a DVD is being put out later this year on their history. The best tag team today should induct them, especially with the touching tribute they gave Hawk after he died a couple years back.
3 - Ron Simmons/ Faarooq
Inducted by - John Bradshaw Layfield
This one makes sense, I believe the only thing preventing it would be the recentness of Simmons' retirement. He also hasnt had a dominant career in the WWE, with really only one title shot when he was the leader of the Nation of Domination. Therefore, his induction would really only be about his WCW career, but he has been in the buisness for so long that I think it would be an appropriate honor for him. Plus, being inducted by his best friend in the buisness would be extremely sesnsible.
4 - Dusty Rhodes
Inducted by - Stone Cold Steve Austin
This one I could see easily happening as well. Rumors have it that JR has contacted Dusty about being in the HOF, so it would make sense if he was inducted. I believe his stint with TNA is close to coming to an end, so he would be available to be inducted if need be. The Stone Cold choice is due to the fact that they're both from Texas and the more Austin does for the WWE, the better it is.
5 - Arn Anderson
Inducted by - Chris Benoit
Wouldn't this just be a cool induction. The toughest guy in WCW back in the day, being inducted by the toughest guy in WWE today. The Four Horseman connection they both share could be displayed as well. Double A is also an agent for the WWE now, so there wouldnt be much of a problem getting him to join. Even though he doesnt have a stellar WWE career, his work in WCW should be enough to warrant his involvement. (Now do you see who I want this years HOF to revolve around?)
6. Gordon Solie
Inducted by - Jim Ross
I don't know much about Solie, other than the fact he was an announcer at one time. I heard rumblings of him being considered for induction this year, so might as well induct him with all of these WCW stars. The induction by Good Ole JR would be appropriate as well, fitting him much better than inducting someone like Nikolai Volkoff.
7. The Nature Boy, Ric Flair
Inducted by - Rowdy Roddy Piper
I feel Flair is a big enough star to have the HOF ceremony revolve around. He has a long list of people who could induct him, Triple H and Randy Orton being two. I feel though it would make sense for the man he inducted this year to induct him this year. I dont know if he would be inducted since he does still wrestle on a time being, but he is such a legend that I can't see it being a problem. I wouldnt mind hearing him introduced as Hall of Famer, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
